IN March of 2007 I got the lap band surgery at the Huacuz surgical center. My experience was nothing short of pleasant. Dr. Huacuz himself greeted me and walked me through the process. He came and got me for the surgery and afterward came to check on me. The nursing staff was very attentive and catered to every need I had. Not only was the experience an amazing one but the surgery has worked wonders. In 2 years I have lost close to 100 lbs and I feel like a new person. I have a self confidence that I didnt know exsited before. I look back on my high school pictures and know that I will never have to be that self concious fat girl ever again. All of that i owe to Dr. Huacuz and his staff. It is a life changing experience that I wouldnt change for the world.
Mary Lynne Wilkins
My name is Jennifer Green and I live in Marysville Washington. I am a mother of 3, and just about to celebrate my 40th birthday.
I have battled with my weight issues for all of my life. Anyone whom is overweight knows all to well, of the various ways, and incredible amount of products that are all advertised to be the "one" that is going to bring the best results for weight loss. Nothing ever seemed to work for me, and pretty much anyone else that I knew either. I felt that I had come to the end of my options, and was just destined to carry this extra weight with me for the rest of my lifetime..
I got on the internent and saw Dr.Huacuz website and started going through all the information that it offered and read the many diferent testimonials that the previous patients had given. After a tremendous amount of investigation on several other surgery centers in Mexico, I decided to call Dr. Huacuz's surgery center and talk to the receptionist. Dr. Huacuz answered the phone and spent a great length of time answering all of my various questions that I was asking him. I called the surgery center several times before I actually decided on what Dr. I was actually going to have perform the surgery.. My e-mails, and phone calls were always answered in the quickest most professional manner, by either the Dr. himself or his assistant.
After choosing Dr. Huacuz to perform the surgery for me, they booked my and my daughter's airline tickets, and had them all ready for us upon arrival at the airport. There was no interruptions in the traveling, everything went as planned. Arriving in California, they had their wonderful, handsome and charming driver pick us up at the airport and drive us directly in through the Mexican border with no altercation, and straight to the surgery center. I was put in a room that had accomodations for my daughter to stay in with me, which was clean and nice. Soon after I was admitted into surgery and out. I awoke in the next morning to going out and doing some shopping with my daughter.
I was given a my x-rays as well as a longlist of providers that I could see for my future fills that may arise. It has been about 3 months now since my surgery and have no regret, just the feeling of finally being on the correct path of a bright future, and the feeling of succeeding towards a goal, I have yearned for my entire life. My attitude has changed tremendously and I am finding that I am not such an abrupt, and unhappy person that I had been before the surgery. The feeling of actually being in control and hard at work on my weight issues, and seeing such great results, has set me free from always being in a bad mood, or less out going in public because I was so very unhappy before. The surgery has allowed me to become the person, friend, parent, employee and women that I always wanted to be, and I knew that I was capable of being, just was so extremely unhappy before gaining the self confidence to be the best that I can be.
In the past 3 months since surgery, I personally guarantee you that every single time I have called the surgery center, or e-mailed them. They have returned them back to me at the most quickest possible manner that anyone could honestly expect. They correspond with me at least once a week, on their own, to inquire my well being, and to remind me to take a vitamin to ensure that I continue my weight loss goal in the best possible shape, as well as continue to keep my body healthy and strong. I have lost 45lbs. now and cannot stress to you enough on how much better I started feeling as soon as the first 10lbs had been lost. It is so great to cross my legs so absolutely comfortable, and looking so elegant as well! It is even nicer to be able to shave my legs, with so much ease and with out the past strain and uncomfortable feeling that tasks that usually are just so simple for the average human being to complete with out even thinking about it. You really would not even be aware of what excess body weight does really to a person, until you are actually able to see and feel what losing just even a little bit can do for your whole way that you choose to do deal, live, and see things, it is most exciting, and I am anxious to continue actually living my life now. As before my surgery, it was just the same old thing day in and day out. I actually have goals, and are making plans with situations and activities that I never even thought about before hand.
I encourage you to stop living and going through your life, with any form of regret, or inner feelings of what it would be like to???------------. I assure you that after surgery, and the wonderful professional counseling that the staff at the surgery center provided and still provides for you at any given time. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FILL IN THAT BLANK LINE . YOU WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO ACHIEVE IT! QUIT WASTING YOUR VALUABLE TIME. QUIT MAKING EXCUSES TO PUT OFF FEELING YOUR ABSOLUTE BEST! YOU DESERVE IT! YOU CAN AFFORD IT!! YOU WILLNOT REGRET IT!
I strongly encourage you to call me at any time of day or night. You may call me collect if need be. I will be completely honest and happy to answer any type of question or concern that you may have or should arise. My telephone number and my e-mail address are below. I was in no shape or form was paid, made to feel obligated, or recieved any type of compensation for my testimonial, except for getting the help that was needed and Dr. Huacuz was able to provide. That is the jumpstart that you need to get ready, and then you are able to do the rest by yourself. Thanks for taking the time to read about my great success, and the wonderful life that I now have., and used to desire and envy. What are you waiting for? You never really know how lousy you truley do feel, until you are able to feel good, for a change..
Lastly.. I was a faithful at least 3 cans a day Pepsi drinker for the past 10 years. It was my coffee in the morning, my date at a movie, my companion that I was positive would be part of me as long as I lived. I was never told by any staff member at the surgery center that I had to eliminate it from my diet, they did inform me of the all more advantages of it not being such a big part in my life or diet, and gave me other suggestions that I could use as an replacement for the Pepsi, that was better for me, and that would actually be an asset to put in my body. Some how, some way....???
I came home from Mexico and have not had more than 2 of them in the last 3 months. Nobody ever would believe that they would come to my house and have not one Pepesi in the fridge! I do not even go down the soda aisle at the grocery store anymore. Go figure? I have no clue except that it is safe for me to assume that I am living such wonderful results, and it is quite possible my concious does not want anything but good, in this soon to be cute, head turning, healthy, and happy little body of mine!

Please do not wait to feel better any longer!! I sure wish that I had done it at 30 instead of 40. I am here and feeling great now though!!!!
Just wanted to drop you and Dr. Huacuz a quick note to let you know that at a month after surgery I am down 14 pounds and doing very well. At the 3 week period, I was already back to my yoga and walking almost every day and feeling great.
I am recommending the clinic to everyone I know who is interested in bariatric surgery. The care and accommodations are superior to any I have received in the U.S.
Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all again!

Dr. Huacuz and his team are consummate professionals and I feel fortunate to have found him to perform my lap band surgery in September 2008.
I liked Dr Huacuz immediately. He appeared to be warm and caring as well as professional and knowledgeable. I also felt he was very approachable and easy to talk to. Unlike American doctors, he did not intimidate or talk down to me. He went above and beyond, and was not only an excellent doctor but a genuine, funny and kind individual. The staff was excellent- the nurses were very attentive and the administrative staff was welcoming. In the weeks and months leading up to my procedure, Rocio was consistently available and eager to answer questions via email.
I had reservations about traveling to Mexico, but upon my arrival I was warmly greeted and put at ease. I was self-pay through a financing company, and the administration made the transaction seamless. The hospital was clean, quiet and located less than 10 minutes from the border. I loved the around-the-clock medical care during my stay- someone was always available or checking on me. He and his staff were extremely supportive both before and after the surgery. I couldn't have asked for more. He was very thorough and honest in discussing both the risks and benefits of the surgery as well as what was expected on the part of the patient. I felt we had a great partnership. I would give him a superior rating. I was extremely pleased with every aspect of my care. Dr. Huacuz has wonderful bedside manner, and really cares about his patients. He wants what is in their best interest and will do anything he can to help them achieve their goal. Once I returned home, the staff checked back with me frequently on my progress.
Less than a year after my surgery, I am down from 236 pounds to 165- and still losing. Having the lap band procedure with Dr. Huacuz was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Hello,
I am doing great. There is less of me all the time. This is so exciting .......Woo Hoo
I do want to take this time to thank all of the office staff, Dr. Huacuz and Laurie for there excellent care and support. Thank so much from my family and me.
My husband was very nervous until he got the call after my surgery. He was so amazed I was feeling so well. This sure made him more relaxed since I went to Mexico by myself. I never had any pain what so ever. I believe this is due to the wonderful care I got from Dr. Huacuz and his staff.
I had lap band surgery from Dr. Huacuz April 18th 2009 As of today I have lost 32 lbs Next Saturday will be 8 weeks since I have had lap band surgery.
I have not had a fill since my first one which Dr. Huacuz gave me. I am still losing weight but as soon as I start eating larger amounts and stop losing I will get anther fill.
I can eat lots of different foods but meat and bread are not working well for me right now although hot dogs are great!! I will keep you updated on my progress.
If anyone is reading this and thinking about having lap band. Don't wait......... Dr. Huacuz and his staff will take wonderful care of you. I would be willing to answer any questions you might have from a patient of Dr. Huacuz

Hi everyone! I'm doing great. I recently went for my first fill here at home. My band is now at 3.2ml's I'm down just shy of 20lbs! Having the band has really changed my life in such a positive way. Not just because of the weight loss, but because it's teaching me portion control, something I've struggled with my whole life! It feels great to be in control of my eating, and not the food controling me. I know that I will reach my goal weight, and that I'll be able to maintain it for once in my life! No more yo-yo weight loss and weight gain. My cholesterol level has dropped dramatically! I'm hopefull that I will be able to stop taking the crestor soon! My experience was so positive, I am so grateful to Dr Huacuz and all the staff. From the time I arrived, until I left, everyone was so kind, and helpful. Dr Huacuz has a great facility, Laurie was great right from the first phone call. All of the nursing staff was professional and kind. I was always kept very comfortable. As far as I'm concerned, I was given the gift of a lifetime.
Thanks for everything!
Sincerly, Cheryl N
Testimonial given by Julie and Mike Webster – June 22, 2009
By the time my husband, Mike, and myself contacted Eureta, we had decided that we wanted to pursue more knowledge regarding the Gastric Sleeve procedure. Mike did not have medical insurance, and my insurance would not approve me for any gastric procedure as I did not completely meet the criteria for medical necessity. However, as he was greater than a 100 lbs. over weight and I was 70 lbs. overweight (along with co-morbidities of Type II Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol/triglycerides, etc.), after much thought and research, we contacted Eureta who quickly confirmed, in our minds, that Dr. Huacuz was in fact the person whom we wanted to perform our surgeries.
Our surgeries were performed on October 20, 2008, with great success and overall results. Mike has lost 105 lbs. and I have lost 53 lbs. to date. We have not encountered any problems in our recovery process. We were given very clear and concise instructions for post-surgery and Dr. Huacuz and staff followed-up with us, religiously, to ensure that we were progressing, well, and didn’t have any lingering questions or concerns. From the moment we landed in San Diego until we flew out 7 days later, our experience with Dr. Huacuz and his Team (Victor, Rosa, his entire nursing staff), was one of complete care, with great compassion from all and extreme knowledge and professionalism.
We would recommend Dr. Huacuz to anyone looking for gastric surgery (and specifically the Sleeve procedure).
We would also like to offer a special “Thank You” to Eureta, for guiding us with her expertise as a Nurse and a facilitator to Dr. Huacuz, and for helping us to first, make the decision to entrust our health and well-being to Dr. Huacuz and second, to help us reach a “comfortable zone” in terms of the surgery itself. We both feel that she, along with Dr. Huacuz and his staff, have truly given us a gift of a long and healthy life together.
Thanks to you all! We’re so grateful for all you have done for us.
Julie and Mike Webster
Dr Huacuz and staff,
Thank you for all the information that has been sent, I read it all, and usually print it all out to keep. I am doing very well with the Band, as you recall I had my surgery October 18th of 07. Since then I have had one fill, and am down about 32lbs. I am feeling very good, people are starting to really notice now, I have dropped about three sizes in clothes, which feels so good!!!!! My oldest daughter is getting married the end of March and I had to actually buy a size 16 dress, wow, have not seen that size for a LONG time :) I am going to a gym at least four times a week, which makes me feel even better on those days I go, I have so much more energy. I am so glad I made the decision to get the Band..... I look forward to coming back for the finishing touches when it's time. Thanks so much!!!

From the moment I was picked up at the airport for my surgery to now, I have always felt that I was in great hands. My surgery and stay were more than I could have imagined. The care by Dr. Huacuz, Norma, and the nurses were superb. The hospital is beautiful and very comfortable. My friend Susan was very well taken care of while she was with me and even had her own room!
Since my surgery in October I have always been able to call Dr. Huacuz or Norma with any questions that I had. And I've had a lot :) I have had 3 fills and have been treated with expert medical care every time.
I am so happy that I had my surgery by Dr. Huacuz and when I lose the weight I will definitely return to Dr. Huacuz for further procedures.
I have recommended him to many of my friends (who have also met him) and they plan on having procedures by Dr. Huacuz in the future.
I cannot express how happy I am and how fortunate I feel to have met Dr. Huacuz and his staff.
Take Care

Upon making my final decision for getting the lap band, I had searched and searched for the Dr. right for me. I prayed and prayed and pretty much had put my information on all the web sites I knew about for the lap band in Mexico. My insurance wouldn't cover this procedure and I knew I would find someone right in helping me to a NEW ME. Eureta called me one night mid August and explained everything about getting to Dr. Huacuz's office, the procedure. She gave me every little detail, this left me feeling more confident and ready for my weight loss journey. She set everything up for me. I just had to show up when she told me to. I took my sister and my younger brother. (They probably won't forget us) They welcomed us like family.
When we got to the office it was quick to get on schedule with all the before hand things. Talking to the other Dr. 's and such. My nurse Mary spoke good english and she made me feel comfortable right from the start. Dr. Huacuz came to me and explained the procedure and was very informative on what would be happening in surgery. Shortly after that I was in and out of suregery no problem. I was surprised that I didn't hurt to bad. Just felt sore mostly but nothing more than a little rest can't take care of. I was there on Thursday and left by Saturday morning and back in my bed that night.
When I got home I followed all the instructions he gave me and I felt good in about a week. I had bad nausea, that would be my only complain. That is just how my body adjusted, had everything to do with all the meds and gas from getting put to sleep. I weighed 290 when I had this done on Sept. 13 2007 and I now weigh 258. I feel comfortable loosing slow so I can get it moved off without loose skin. I have had 2 adjustments and I have 2.6ccs in right now. That would be the hardest thing is finding the right Dr. close to you. One that will fill you like you need to be filled and not just a little bit every month just so they can take your money.
I would recommend Dr. Huacuz and his staff highly. I have told them that God put them in my life to help me change it so I can live healthy. Dr. Huacuz is a very humble man, with good bedside manners. (Not to mention Easy on the Eyes.) That always helps. (ha ha) I will forever be thankful for him.

My name is Chris Anderson I'm a 49 years old male and I had lap band surgery in June of this year. I researched lap band people for 6 months and found DR. Huacuz after dealing with many other surgeons. I booked the surgery. I was relieved to find out how professional
they were and how they cared about me as a patient. After the surgery the staff took care of me and looked after me as if I were there family. As of today: I have lost 43 lbs. I started at 250 so I feel much better. My goal is 175 but I am taking my time. I've had 2 fills so far and I dont think I will need another. If anyone wants to talk to me about the surgery or after the surgery please E-mail. If I had a choice to have the surgery in the usa or Dr. Huacuz I would hands down pick Dr. Huacuz in tijuana. If you have any questions e-mail me. You need JavaScript enabled to view it I would like to speak with anyone that wants to know about lap-band surgery

There are many great reasons to come to Huacuz Surgical Center for your bariatric surgery needs----for me it summed up to:
* High Quality Care Close To USA
* Medical Expertise
* Outstanding, Compassionate Care
After extensive research online, I chose the Huacuz Surgical Center for my lap-band procedure. I was able to get an appointment for my lap-band surgery within a couple of weeks. Norma, the patient coordinator was both patient and happy to answer any and all questions I had about both the procedure and travel toTijuana.
Upon arrival to San Diego, my spouse and I were greeted at the baggage claim by Victor, the facility driver. He was bi-lingual, professional and informative. The 20 min drive to Tijuana was without incident as the scenery and Victor’s advice helped soothe any pre-op anxiety.
I was pleased to see upon arrival at the facility that Huacuz Surgical Center strives to offer an attractive, modern and comfortable environment at the facility, a reflection of the overall quality you have come to expect from Dr. F. Daniel Huacuz.
DAY 1
Upon entering the facility we were quickly greeted by Norma and Dr. Huacuz, we discussed the surgery and he helped answer any questions I might have had before the procedure. I was then escorted to my private room which was equipped with a private bathroom, A/C, TV and telephone. After a consultation with Louise Ann Mattos the facility Psychologist and having several tests performed by Benjamin Gallegos, the Internist, I was prepped by the nurses for surgery. Within a couple of hours I was back in recovery resting peacefully. There was always a nurse on duty and the doctor made several visits a day throughout my 48 hour stay. I felt no discomfort since I was provided adequate pain medication.
DAY 2
By the next morning I was up walking around the hospital, making sure to avoid the dreaded gas pain all the websites spoke about. I had none. Although sore I had no pain. I was given a choice of various tropical juices and chicken stock for meals. In the afternoon, my spouse and I went across the street and hung out in the hotel bar at the Camino Real Hotel, we also walked down the street to the local mall and did some shopping. I was given pain medication, so I felt no pain, but I was tired and looked forward to my afternoon nap!
DAY 3
Dr. Huacuz drove my spouse and I to a local radiologist office to have my x-ray with fluoroscopy done. After a couple of ounces of barium, and a couple of minutes on the x-ray machine, my new band showed to be perfect. I left the office with copies of my x-ray pictures and band information. Shortly thereafter, Victor, the driver was waiting for us at the facility to drive us back to San Diego Airport to catch our flight.
In conclusion, my satisfaction was the foremost objective of Huacuz Surgical Center. They not only took good care of me but also attended to my spouse ensuring that he was provided for. Since I’ve returned to the states, the patient coordinator, Norma and Dr. Huacuz , have always been available to answer any post-op questions and have taken a personal interest in my recovery. I am now 6 weeks post-op and I forget I have a band! I have recovered 100% and have already started by weight loss journey and look forward to reaching my goal weight soon. :-)
The experienced and compassionate staff at Huacuz Surgincal Center was always available to ensure that my experience is the best one possible at the facility and well into my post op recovery and I’m sure that they will do the same for you.
Good Luck

My Name is Suzette, I had my surgery on August 28,2006..... I am almost 2 weeks post-op. I would like to start by saying if you are like me you always think of how it will not work instead of yes it is my turn to get my life back. I started looking into something to help me to lose this weight once and for all. I have tried every diet there is know to man kind and I would lose 10 or 15 lbs and gain it all back and more! I had looked into have the procedure done in the Untied States actually in Westwood,Ca. and the price was to expensive so I gave up last summer. Until I came across someone who had there surgery done in Mexico, so I started looking on line for different Surgical Centers, that is when I decided that I was going to do this and I was going to do it soon. I went to Mexico and meet with 3 Surgical Centers in one day and as soon as I meet with Dr.Huacuz and his staff and he personally drove me to see the private hospital where I would be having my surgery, I knew that he was the surgeon for me and that he truly was going to change my life forever.
My experience was better then I could have ever hopped for I was treated with compassion and understanding from the moment I was picked up at the San Diego Airport, the staff makes you feel so safe starting from the great guy named Victor who drove me and my sister to the hospital. My sister and I laughed the entire way to the hospital "what a relief" I needed to feel safe and comfortable because I was very nervous! I arrived at the hospital and was meet by the Surgical Team of Dr. Huacuz and I again felt safe in there hands, I knew right then, it was truly going to be Okay. The Team of doctors came in and explained everything to me and by 5:30pm my surgery was done, I woke up and starting talking to my sister we couldn't believe it, I wasn't sick and I seemed to not be in alot of pain! Dr. Huacuz picked me up personally from the hospital he was so great I can not tell you how perfect this was. We stayed in a beautiful *5 Star Hotel for the next night and another surgeon from The Huacuz Surgical Center" came to check on me personally that night. We left Mexico the next morning and were dropped of at our car back at the airport and wished a safe drive home. Here is the best part "I have lost 17lbs as of today" 11 days post-op after my surgery I am already in a smaller size of clothes !!! I can not say enough how this has changed my life and instead of that feeling every morning of what is the use of trying, I now have a new lease on life!!!
I will be staying in touch with everyone at the Haucuz Surgical Center, I truly feel like they are my new extended family.. If you are thinking about having the surgery don't think about it just do it!
If you should have any questions or want to speak to me personally about my experience or about The Huacuz Team, please contact them and they will give you my information I would be glad to talk with you. No more Diets to Fail !!!!
Hello, my name is Sean Miller. I would like to tell you about my experience with the Huacuz Surgical Center and the Laproscopic Band Surgery. If you are like me you are a victim of the American medical system. I, like so many people, was paying for my insurance, but denied the medical necessities that could save my life. I fought with several different insurance companies over the years, to no avail. These mental morons would rather spend the tens of thousands of dollars that they did fighting all of the illnesses associated with my obesity.
My health became a serious problem over the past four years. I was in and out of the hospital several times as was my wife Christina, who has high blood pressure, morbid obesity, arthritis, and was heading for diabetes. I myself suffer from severe diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, morbid obesity, heart disease, high cholesterol, diabetic neuropathy, diabetic retinopathy, and arthritis. My life, and hers was on the line.
Four days before Hurricane Katrina, I suffered two strokes. I was living with chest pains on a daily basis, and my feet were so bad off that I could no longer work. My children were also on the same path we were. My eleven-year old daughter weighs 140 lbs., and my three-year old son weighs 45 lbs.. We had a sedentary lifestyle in which we had no energy, no ambition, and no hope.
My wife saw an advertisement for the Lap-band surgery in a newspaper, and brought it home to me. This advertisement was selling the surgery for less that the surgeons in the United States were offering. My wife and I researched the advertisement, and found Doctor Huacuz and his facility. I have to tell you that I was skeptical. I just like anyone else immediately thought, wait a minute,Mexico? Isn’t that a third world country? No, it is not. Then I found several surgeons listed in Mexico that advertised the surgery. When I called those surgeons’ offices, I found that they were very competitive.
Some of those surgeons even went as far as to accuse Dr. Huacuz directly and indirectly of things such as charging too little, not using INAMED brand bands, performing too many surgeries in a day, and reusing surgical tools. I was also told that as soon as I got off the plane, someone would request the money for the surgery and then leave me stranded in Mexico. I heard “You get what you pay for”, and “He charges so little because he isn’t qualified.” I can tell you from experience that these LIES are exactly that, LIES! I can assure you that he is very qualified, competent, and committed.
Here is my story. I went to have my surgery on June 5th of 2006. My wife and I arrived at the airport, and were met by Dr. Huacuz’s associate, Victor. Victor picked us up and drove us to the surgical center. The surgery center was clean as any hospital I’ve ever been in, and trust me; I’ve been in a lot of hospitals. The staff members were professional and caring. The biggest obstacle I encountered was the language barrier, but Dr. Huacuz and Dr. Romero spoke wonderful English. Norma, Dr. Huacuz’s secretary, also spoke very clearly, and translated whatever we needed.
I was admitted and put into a hospital gown. My blood was drawn, my vitals were taken, and an EKG was done to ensure that it was safe to do the surgery. I waited with my wife until the results of my tests returned. I was nervous, and Doctors Huacuz and Romero reassured me that everything would be fine. They went over the entire procedure as well as the possible complications that could occur. They also made my sign for my INAMED brand band, and gave me all of the relevant paper work associated with my post-operative care and food regimens.
I then went into surgery. I advised the anesthetist that I am a singer and that I was worried about my vocal cords being damaged by the intubations tube. He assured me that he would extra careful in his insertion. The next thing I remember, I was waking up from my surgery. My vocal cords were unharmed. I thought I had been in a car wreck. I was in pain and disoriented. I don’t do well with anesthesia. Dr. Huacuz stayed with my wife and I in my recovery room for three hours while I was coming out of anesthesia and until he was sure I was all right. I don’t know about you, but I've never had a nurse, let alone a doctor, wait in an I.C.U. or any other room with a patient.
I am a large man who at the time of the surgery was weighing in at well over 400 lbs.. I am barrel chested and very muscular. I was unable to pass water after two days because my body is so densely packed with muscle and fat. Dr. Huacuz decided that he needed to go back in and remove fat from around my heart to open up the band. This was very scary for me. I thought that I might die. He reassured me once more that everything would be fine. He was right. I had to change my departure plans. This cost me an extra $600.00 dollars in airfare. Dr. Huacuz helped me fill out the paper work to claim my insurance on the tickets so that I could recoup the difference. My wife and I also stayed in a five star hotel the following night and were taken back to the airport by Victor.
My wife through all of this was by my side. Norma took her shopping and made sure she was fed while she was with me in the surgical center. Dr. Huacuz and his staff were the nicest and most committed medical professionals I have ever met. My wife returned five weeks later and had her surgery. She too had problems with the anesthesia and Dr. Huacuz once again spent three whole hours attending to her until she was out and safe.
I can tell you that in most cases, you get what you pay for. But you cannot put a price on the level of competency, commitment, and compassion that this man and his staff possess. I trusted him with my life and the life of the mother of my children. To me there is no higher honor. This surgery is not a cure. It is only a tool. If you are ready to change your life this man and his staff can help. I am his biggest fan. Soon I will be his biggest fan but smallest patient.
I would be happy to talk with you if you have any questions.

MY NAME IS HENRY PADILLA AND I AM 29 YRS. OLD. I LIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. I RECENTLY HAD THE LAP BAND SURGERY ON JANUARY 27, 2006. AFTER MONTHS OF READING ABOUT THIS SURGERY, I DECIDED TO HAVE DR. HUACUZ PERFORM THE PROCEDURE. I HAD TWO RELATIVES HAVE THE SAME SURGERY WITH DIFFERENT DOCTORS AND HAVE HAD AMAZING RESULTS. I ARRIVED IN MEXICO BY MYSELF AND THIS SEEMED TO BE A CONCERN FOR THE DOCTORS. I WOULD HAVE BROUGHT SOMEONE, HOWEVER WE SCHEDULED THE SURGERY AT THE LAST MINUTE AND MY GIRL FRIEND AND EVERYONE ELSE WAS BUSY AND I'M THE KIND OF GUY WHO DOESNT REALLY NEED SOMEONE THERE TO HOLD MY HAND. I'M PRETTY SELF RELIANT!!! ANYHOW, I ARRIVED ABOUT 11:00 AM AND WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL AND FOUND THAT IT WAS NICER THAN EXPECTED. IT REMINDED ME OF THE HOSPITALS IN THE STATES, ONLY SMALLER. I TALKED WITH THE DR. AND HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING. THE STAFF WAS REALLY NICE, HOWEVER, COMMUNICATION WAS A LITTLE HARD DUE TO THE LANGUAGE BARRIER. I HAD THE SURGERY AT ABOUT 6:00 PM AND I FELT THAT IT WENT KIND OF FAST. ONE MINUTE I WAS IN SURGERY, THE NEXT I WAS AWAKE AND LAYING IN THE BED IN MY ROOM. I WAS A LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE DUE TO THE GAS IN MY STOMACH. AND I THINK I WAS JUST VERY CAUTIOUS DUE TO THE FACT THAT I HAD JUST HAD SURGERY. AS FOR PAIN, I REALLY DIDNT FEEL ANY BESIDES THE GAS. THE NEXT DAY I LEFT THE HOSPITAL, AND WENT TO THE HOTEL, WHERE DR. ROMERO CHECKED IN ON ME. I LEFT AND CAME HOME THE NEXT DAY.
SINCE THE SURGERY, I HAVE LOST 40 LBS. TO DATE. I WENT FROM 305 LBS. THE DAY OF THE SURGERY TO 265 LBS. IN A MATTER OF 10 WEEKS. I HAVE HAD SOME BOUT WITH THROWING UP BUT FEEL IT HAS BEEN BECAUSE I AM EATING TO FAST OR NOT CHEWING PROPERLY. I HAVE HAD 2 FILLS AND AFTER THE LAST I CAN REALLY SEE A DIFFERENCE IN MY EATING HABITS. MY GOAL IS TO REACH 200 LBS. BY SEPTEMBER AND I THINK I WILL MAKE IT. I HAVE BEGUN EXERCISING AND EATING BETTER. I DO GET CRAVINGS TO EAT ALOT BUT THAT IS EASILY PUT IN CHECK WHEN YOU START TO FEEL PAIN BECAUSE YOU'VE EATEN TO MUCH. I RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE SEEING LITTLE TO KNOW WEIGHT LOSS, YOU START WALKING. IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE ALOT BUT START OFF WITH A HALF A MILE AND GRADUALLY WORK YOUR WAY UP TO A MILE OR TWO ATLEAT 3 NIGHTS A WEEK. I GUARANTEE, YOU WILL SEE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN THE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT YOU ARE LOSING. AS FOR THOSE OUT THERE THINKING ABOUT THIS SURGERY, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HAVING THIS SURGERY WITH DR. HUACUZ. MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN GREAT AND I HAVE HAD NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL. FOLLOW THE DOCTORS INSTRUCTIONS, AND DONT FEEL BAD IF YOU FALL OFF THE WAGON EVERY NOW AND THEN. WERE ALL HUMAN. JUST ALWAYS KEEP AN EYE ON WHERE YOU ARE AND WHERE YOU WANT TO BE AND WORK TOWARDS IT. ITS NOT HARD IF YOU COMMIT YOURSELF.
I recently went to the see the Huacuz team and surgery team for Lap band surgery. (All, which spoke English.) I was received up most professional and personal friendly personal service for the moment I was pick up for the airport until I was taken back to the airport to go home. I never have to worry about what was going to happen next or felt seared or unsure of the Huacuz team. All the doctors, nurses, cardiologist, physiologist, and Huacuz staff clearly explained everything to me as it was happening.( which set my mind at ease.) And what I need to do in the future with my lap band to stay health and have a long (thin) successful life. They are an awsome group!
The hospital I stayed at what so clean that the floors looked like they were made of glass. The windows, floor-boarders, walls were clean as if the were just build. You could tell they had just been well maintained. The hospital had all the the most updated equipment needed of the surgery along with the most friendly and caring nurses at your call in a seconds notice. This hospital would put most of our American hospitals to shame with there ready staff and Superior clean environment. That was something that I worried about when I first thought of going to Mexico for my Lap Band surgery. (What would the hospital be like and if would out of date?) It was not.
I am now going to briefly go over my three days in Tijuana with the Huacuz surgical team so the if your are considering the lap band I would highly recommend the Huacuz Surgical team for your surgery.
First I was pick up at the airport by Victor right when and where they said he would be. Victor approached me and using my full name so I knew I was with the right person. He then took me another couple across the border and to the hospital where the surgery would be done. From there a group of nurses came in the room got me ready for surgery. I had my own private room. Then, Dr Romero came in and talked to me about what needed to be done after the surgery for the best result for my health and weight loss results. Before surgery, a physigoloist came in talk to me and consulted me on the emotional and mental well being of the surgery and life after the surgery. She help me understand myself and why I was in my obese condition. She was a lot of fun. Then, a cardiologist came and check my heart was strong enough for me surgery.
That after noon, I was taken in surgery. Later, I woke up, feeling a little sore from the incisions but did not even feel that had even had surgery. I was able to get up, and walk around just as if I had never had surgery. I was expecting pain and soreness that never occurred.
The next morning Dr. Huacuz have examine me. He was very caring wanted to make sure I was feeling good before I left the hospital. He gave me the medicine and all the liquid meals that I would be needed for the next two days. Later, Victor came and took us to another hospital where Dr. Romero was waiting there for us to check our surgery though some type of ex-ray scope. (I wish I knew the correct name for it). There we were able to see our lap band though the t.v. monitors. It was so neat the lap band as I drink some pink stuff and the pink liquid went through us. It explained so much in detail, how the lap work after seeing there though the monitors.
Then, Victor took us to a five star hotel that was so beautiful. It overlook the town, and historical statue in center of circle. It had a awesome view of the fast pace town. He seen us to our room and made sure we did need anything else before he left. That night, Dr. Romero came in and check on up at the hotel to see if there was anything we needed. The next morning, Dr. Huacuz came in and examine me once again before I left. He answered any questions that I might had came to me over the night. He also explain everthing once again so that I would stay in the good health. He advised me to call he personal 1800 number if I had any problems and to keep in touch though phone or e-mail. Now that a is really a GREAT DOCTOR.
And last, Victor came to take us back across the border and on to the airport. He was very concerned about us catching our flights on time and getting home safe. I almost did not want to leave all my new caring friends that I had meet through Dr. Huacuz team. My eyes teared up, but sadly, I knew I had to go home.
The next day Dr. Huacuz team call to check that I made it home o.k. and that I felt well. (They did not have to do that, but they did.) Now that's caring.
The price Dr. Huacuz charged me, covered ever thing. I was never asked for another penny or and hidden charges. There were no "for 100.00 more you can get blah, blah, blah." To rise the price or any bait and switch tactics. ( And you know how often that done here in America.) EVERYTHING was included in his price. EVERYTHING! Once I landed at the airport I did not spend another dime the whole time I was there.
And last I would like to say that did not receive and discount, freebies, or future discount on any type of surgery. I am writing this because I feel Dr. Huacuz has the most awesome professional health services and program package and he has a fantastic educated group that he works with. ) Thank you for taking the time to read my testimony. And I would like to thank Dr. Huacuz and his surgical team for changing my life and I know they can change your.
On the road to be thin,

Dr. Huacuz, Dr. Romero, Norma and Victor,
I want to include all of you in a huge THANK YOU for the "extra" effort you put forth to make my surgery happen for me on such short notice and working around already existing airline tickets. NO one else would have went that far to help someone as your team did for me and I will be eternally grateful for this, as I know now that finding your clinic and wonderful staff has gave me a new lease on life. I don’t know where to start thanking you or praising you for the awesome experience that I had while there , the hospital was a extremely nice facility as was being met there by all of the staff on my arrival to get me checked in and the process started.. Norma you are wonderful, organized and a god send. Thanks for taking care of my husband. I was very apprehensive in meeting the Dr's as most of you know who have fought obesity all their lives you sometimes are made feel inferior or less than worthy of some medical care. NOT HERE... Dr Huacuz and Dr Romero made me and my husband feel at ease from the get go and that was not an easy job. It was hard to think of questions to ask them as they were so informative and thorough with the instructions that it was all already covered for me. The aftercare has been wonderful from the time of checking into the hotel till getting home and having access to the doctors whenever needed. I was very skeptical about really being able to call and talk to someone if needed but they have answered the phone every time I have called and emailed to remind me to stay in touch also. I know there are so many more aspects of this that I should touch on but I cant relay to you enough how professional and safe I felt in their care, I wish I lived closer and they had family practice to use all the time , they were that knowledgeable and caring about me and all their patients. If at any time you have patients who need confirmation of your expertise please forward my information to them so that they may contact me if they wish. AGAIN I can't Thank you enough for showing me the way to a healthier, leaner and more wonderful life.
Sincerely yours,
Angela C
